Harbour Industry transforms the visual language of ports, cranes and architectural structures into a layered abstract composition of turquoise, rust, ochre, white and deep blue.
Lines intersect, blocks appear and dissolve, and the surface seems to oscillate between construction and openness. The work does not describe a harbour literally; instead, it retains its rhythm, geometry and constant sense of movement.
Harbour Industry emerged from an interest in industrial landscapes and the unexpected visual poetry found within them.
Verticals, diagonals and fragmented geometric forms recall cranes, containers, walkways and structural frameworks, while broad fields of turquoise create breathing space between these more architectural elements.
The acrylic surface is built through successive layers, visible brushwork, fine linear marks and areas of stronger texture. Warm reds and oranges punctuate the cooler background, creating tension between solidity and movement.
Part of Matter in Motion, the artwork explores the moment when familiar structures begin to lose their literal meaning and become rhythm, balance and colour instead.
